EMAIL 8/1/11

(I was driving Kyle to Rexburg, Idaho for EFY this day and didn’t get a chance to chat with Jessie.   Her normal PDays are Wednesdays, but this time it was on a Monday.)

Well it kind of seems like you’re not on today, which is sad cuz I figured hey she'll be at work.... but maybe you’re having a meeting or somewhere else. Anyways things have been pretty interesting this week, not a ton, but a few cool things. Actually one non cool thing is I'm going to go to the doctor to get a test to see if I have diabetes or a thyroid problem.... someone told me that I seem to have the signs of a thyroid problem and if that's the case for sure I'll take that over diabetes. We'll see. I was supposed to go to the doctor on Wednesday, but that is when we have our conference and I think Hermana Alvarado forgot that. So not sure when it will happen, but I want to do it just to be safe.  For example my moods have been way off (very depressed- happy) and still tired, my weight is on and off and other things. So we'll see

So here is a little list of this week:

1. President was in the area and we invited to come to something that we knew he would like, and he was going to go but couldn't. But as we invited him he was like hey Hermana Comoletti how is your Spanish and I was like ummm well... and then he was like are you speaking only Spanish and I was like no..... and then he said he wanted us to meet up with him and teach him and Hermana Alvarado the commandments explained in Preach My Gospel. We had to teach within 40 minutes 13 commandments and they knew nothing. And I was the missionary to lead the discussion. I was like shoot we shouldn't have called him and invited him. Anyways long story short he ended up calling and saying that I wasn’t going to have to do it for now. LOL.  So I don't know if that means not anymore or in another time. We'll see.  I was relieved when he cancelled, truly prayers are answered   And he also said that it was a test, he was going to learn from me heheh I was thinking yeah right.... it's a test. LOL.

2. The reason that we invited President to church on Sunday is because there is a menos activa who is a returned missionary. She has not attended church for 4-5 years, but her kids go. President went to seminary with this woman and knows her well. He kept saying make her go to church. So here is the thing.... The ward just recently ordained a new bishop. The old one was moving, and word has it many people become inactive with him. She being one of them. We heard things and I don't know what is true and what isn't, but he was the reason she didn't go. One example is she has a younger son (6 kids) and he is the age to be baptized. She wanted her older son to baptize him, but the bishop wouldn't give him the ranking according to his age (for stupid reason, not fair). So not only were the 3 older sons not receiving the appropriate priesthood, but the other son wasn't getting baptized. One day she asked us if we could find out if her sons could serve mini missions before school started. Hermana Garcia called President and he immediately said yes. It became a week process to get everything worked out, but with this new bishop, the boys ended up receiving their priesthood and the opportunity to be set apart for their mini missions. Two days before their ordination, we visited this Hermana. (At first she was very, very, very hard to handle and I wanted to give up on her. I'm so grateful for Hermana Garcia and the perseverance of all because she is a great person and just needed this little bit of help from everyone.) She explained to us the situation that her sons were going to be ordained, and seriously we were so so happy. And then we were like so you’re going to church then and she was like for sacrament and we were double happy. Long story short this bishop did his part and has been changing the ward. We didn't think she would come to sacrament - left after the setting apart in the morning.... and she was late for the meeting. We said little prayers in our hearts and there she walked in and sat in church. I was thrilled and so happy for her. I kept thinking of the scripture in D & C 18 (Doctrine and Covenants) how every soul is great in the sight of God and what great joy to see one that Alma saved.

3. This same woman during the time we were visiting and finding out about her sons, she was like I was a missionary and when I was serving I always loved having baptisms and anyone counts. So she was like you sisters can have my son’s baptism count. So on Sunday we found out that her eight year old son, almost 9, will be baptized this Sunday at 6 pm from his older brother. Truly many little miracles happened this Sunday!!!!!

4. Many menos activos came this Sunday to church.

5. We had an interesting noche de hogar that ended up as a family religious feud, killed the spirit.

6. There are mini sister missionaries serving now... more hermanas yeah.

……………………………………….

8. I don't get to chat with you today it looks like it :s.

9. Hermana Evit... love her, sister from the ward, bought us things from Avon. She's a representative for them and she bought us perfume and earrings and body gel... it felt like Christmas.... she's been taking care of us.

10. Druggy man came to church again, but the hermanos handled it.

Well this is some of the things that have happened this week and hope that all is awesome for you guys.... REALLY TRULY MISS YOU ALL AND LOVE YOU.... so ready to be home now. LOL.
